As an EID/DEI practitioner, Monica has focused her efforts on aligning with inclusion, aligning policies with intent vs. impact to provide access, and opportunities as strategies and tactics to drive equitable practices impacting people.
Monica was the 2021 ACLU-Mn Volunteer of the Year award winner and a delegate for the 2022 United Nations Latino Leadership Summit. She was pointed to the Health Equity Advisory and Leadership (HEAL) Council in 2022, which assists the Minnesota Department of Human Service in developing strong performance measures for advancing health equity.
