Liza Oliva-Perez is a multifaceted individual, embodying the roles of Mental Health Advocate, Real Estate Investor, Entrepreneur, Author, Educator, and Storyteller. As the Co-Founder and Director of Operations at Simply Destinee Youth Center in Aurora, she leverages her personal journey after the devastating loss of her youngest daughter. Recognizing the pressing need for a supportive environment for young people, Liza is dedicated to mentoring, building confidence, offering peer support, and teaching positive coping mechanisms. Her firsthand experience of a traumatic upbringing has shaped her understanding of how trauma and upbringing influence our emotions, struggles, and resilience. With a Master’s in Education from National Louis University, Liza also serves as a compassionate teacher within CPS. She has an immense love for her husband, daughter, son, and two adored grandchildren.
