KARA ALFONSO

Kara Alfonso was born in the Bronx to an artist/scientist and crafter/secretary. She was raised with various academic and cultural in uences. In 1985, she was accepted into the Prep for Prep program, where she transitioned from public school in the Bronx to a private school in Manhattan. is jumpstart helped provide her with the foundation to eventually go to Wesleyan University where she earned a BA in Art History.

Armed with an art history degree, she worked her way into P zer Inc. as a systems analyst, arguing that the analytical nature of art history—which explores visual, historical, economic, and social aspects of art—would translate into system development.

She worked for several pharmaceutical companies over her twenty- ve-year tenure and currently heads the regulatory solutions department at P zer, focused on bringing information-driven solutions to the regulatory department. She has continued to keep people at the heart of her work, driving e ciency, value, and improving overall user experience.
