Iris overcame challenges to achieve her RN degree in the ’80s. Her diverse career spanned Staff Nursing to Quality Management. Iris played a key role in a telemedicine project for the elderly Latino community in NYC. At 50, she obtained her MSN from Columbia University. She mentored nurses in nursing informatics at prestigious; Magnet™ hospitals for 15 years until retiring in 2020. Iris is a founding Co-author of Latinas 100 and co-author of Hispanic Rising Stars, vol III. She now focuses on writing her memoir, cultivating her garden, and sharing her delectable, veganised, Puerto Rican cuisine.
