DR. AMPARO DE LA PEÑA
Dr. Amparo de la Peña is an inspirational leader, a mother, scientist, and writer. She earned a degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of the Republic, Uruguay, and a PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida. In more than twenty-one years at Eli Lilly, where she leads cross-functional drug development teams, her scientific expertise has helped bring drugs to patients worldwide.
Dr. de la Peña has written for over 130 scientific publications and is involved with scientific associations. She is a proud mother of three energetic teenagers and writes short nonfiction stories in her free time. Dr. de la Peña is a board member of the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation; her passion is increasing the diversity of the readership and library materials.
