Alyssa Silva-Rafi

Alyssa Silva-Rafi is an elementary school teacher for Chicago Public Schools with a commitment to working and advocating for multilingual learners. She received her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL endorsement. She is currently working towards a Leadership Ph.D. with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction. She also mentors first-year teachers across the district and is a Virtual Instructional Coach for the We Care Mentoring Program. Alyssa serves as the Elementary SIG Chair for (Illinois Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) ITBE. Alyssa was a 2023 Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year awardee receiving an award of Special Recognition in the teacher category from the Illinois State Board of Education.
